2024 Te Mata Estate Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
Te Mata Estate’s Sauvignon Blanc comes entirely from the estate’s own vineyards in the Bridge Pā Triangle, Dartmoor, and Havelock Hills subregions of Hawke’s Bay, where the warmer climate and free-draining soils produce a riper, more textured expression than the classic Marlborough style. Established in 1896 and still family owned, Te Mata handles the fruit gently, fermenting in stainless steel to preserve freshness and aromatic clarity. The 2024 is bright and concentrated, with lemon verbena, passionfruit, white peach, guava, lime zest, and lemongrass carried by tangy acidity, subtle saline minerality, and a long, refreshing finish.
