Thierry Allemand is one of the defining growers of modern Cornas, and Reynard represents the deepest and most profound expression of his cellar. Drawn from his oldest Syrah vines rooted in the steep, decomposed-granite slopes of Cornas, the wine was fermented with whole clusters and raised for roughly two years in seasoned barrels and foudres without new oak. A decade of bottle age has begun to reveal remarkable complexity while preserving the power of the exceptional 2015 vintage. Black raspberry, cherry liqueur, violet, incense, cracked pepper, and smoky mineral notes unfold across a concentrated yet seamless palate, framed by velvety tannins and a remarkably long, floral, spice-laced finish.
