Thierry Allemand’s Reynard is the domaine’s most profound expression of Cornas, drawn from his oldest Syrah vines rooted in the appellation’s steep, decomposed-granite slopes. The 2009 reflects the warmth and concentration of the vintage while retaining the mineral intensity and aromatic lift that define Allemand’s wines. Fermented traditionally with whole clusters and raised for nearly two years in seasoned barrels and foudres, it has evolved beautifully in bottle. Cassis, blackberry, violet, dried herbs, black pepper, tar, and crushed stone unfold across a powerful, deeply concentrated palate with vibrant acidity, integrated tannins, and an exceptionally long, mineral-driven finish.
