2005 Domaine Jamet Cote Rotie, Rhone, France

Sale price$345.00

Domaine Jamet is one of the benchmark traditional producers of Côte-Rôtie, assembling its flagship wine from numerous steep, terraced Syrah parcels across the appellation rather than emphasizing a single vineyard. The vineyards are worked by hand, and the parcels are vinified separately with extensive whole-cluster fermentation before a long élevage in mostly seasoned demi-muids and barriques. The structured 2005 has developed beautifully with age, showing damson plum, red currant, violet, dried meat, black olive, tobacco, iron, and savory herbs across a dense yet refined palate with velvety tannins, refreshing acidity, and a persistent, subtly saline finish.
