Domaine Jamet is one of the defining traditional producers of Côte-Rôtie, and the 2009 captures the domaine at its most powerful without sacrificing its signature lift and precision. Built from Syrah grown across Jamet’s mosaic of steep, varied lieux-dits, the wine reflects the estate’s classic whole-cluster approach and long élevage in barrel. Nearly two decades of bottle age have revealed layers of damson plum, black raspberry, bitter cherry, violet, black olive, smoked meat, rosemary, and cracked pepper. Rich and deeply savory, yet still fresh and finely framed by mineral-laced tannins, this is a beautifully mature expression of old-school Côte-Rôtie with remarkable length and character.
