Where are you located? Do you have a tasting room?
We're based in Daly City, California, just south of San Francisco. We don't operate a walk-in tasting room, but local pickup is available — orders are usually ready within 24 hours.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes. Choose local pickup at checkout and we'll have your order ready, usually within 24 hours. We'll email you when it's ready.
Do you ship wine? Which states do you ship to?
Yes — we ship to almost every state. Orders within California ship via FedEx; out-of-state orders ship via our fulfillment partner. Some states restrict direct wine shipments, so if your state isn't offered at checkout, contact us and we'll do our best.
How long will my order take to arrive?
In-state orders typically arrive within a few business days; out-of-state orders take a bit longer depending on the destination. During hot or cold weather we may hold your shipment and reach out about timing — we'd rather wait a few days than risk your wine.
What if my wine arrives damaged?
Let us know within 7 days and send photos of the damage. We'll make it right.
What about heat or cold damage during shipping?
We watch the weather and will reach out if conditions look risky for your shipment. Please note that we're not responsible for weather-related damage, and shipping insurance doesn't cover it either — when in doubt, we'll hold the order until it's safe to ship.
Can I return a bottle?
Unopened bottles in resalable condition may be returned within 30 days, but please contact us for prior approval first — unauthorized returns will be refused, and return shipping is at your expense. All sales are final on opened bottles, including bottles that are corked or faulty, so please choose carefully.
What does “sold as-is” mean on some listings?
A few bottles in our cellar have stained or scuffed labels. The wine inside is exactly as described — we note the label condition and show photos on the listing, and price those bottles accordingly. As-is bottles are final sale.
Do you insure shipments?
For higher-value bottles, we can arrange expedited shipping and add insurance — just contact us before ordering and we'll set it up.
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes. If you're a retailer or restaurant interested in our wines, email sales@comptoirwine.com and tell us about your program.
Do you host events or offer consulting?
Yes — visit our Events & Consulting page to learn more, or reach out directly.
